Naomi McClure

Naomi McClure is a Scottish artist based in Edinburgh. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Painting from Gray's School of Art in 2019. Her work has received several awards including the Society of Scottish Artists New Graduate Award (2019), The David & June Gordon Memorial Trust Award (2020), and the Leith School of Art Award (2020). She also was selected for RSA New Contemporaries 2020.

McClure's artistic process involves finding a balance between the conceptual idea and the physical form; focusing on shape, layered surface, and manipulated perspective. Through exploring space as structure, each finished piece becomes a blueprint for the next. This allows her practice to evolve through a continual progression and intuitive response, resulting in spaces that feel familiar yet remain ambiguous and undefined.
