Mengyuan Tong

Mengyuan Tong is a painter from China, currently living in Edinburgh. She holds an MFA in Arts and Humanities from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Fine Art and History of Art from Goldsmiths. Mengyuan’s artist practice is rooted in a profound Mengyuan’s artist practice is rooted in a profound passion for exploring cross-cultural experiences. In her recent project, she explores how symbols carry hopes and aspirations for people across different cultures. She is interested in how new meanings emerge through encounters between people, and how symbols are used to express shared desires for connection, protection and sense of belonging.
