Betsey Kilpatrick

Betsey Kilpatrick was born in Leicester and now lives and works in Edinburgh. She attended Wimbledon College of Art, and the Royal College of Art, London.

Her practice explores the often unspoken relationship between nature and human consciousness. Interested in the paradox that occurs when paintings simultaneously create sensations of movement and stillness, she contemplates the interplay between emptiness and form. Through painting, she experiments with the dialogue between image and process, seeking not only to depict nature but to embody its essence.
